Softball Queensland is excited to announce the team selected to tour Kochi City, Japan in 2025. This 11-day tour, scheduled for August, will feature 10 competitive matches against high-calibre local teams, along with a two-night stopover in Tokyo on the return journey.

The Kochi Tour is a key initiative within Softball Queensland’s Strategic Plan, designed to enhance the development of players and officials through exposure to international competition.

Fabian Barlow, SQ’s Pathway Coordinator, emphasized the significance of this tour, stating, “The Kochi Tour presents an excellent development opportunity for players. It challenges them to improve their skills and step outside their comfort zones, away from their local softball environment in Queensland.”

Barlow further clarified the tour's focus: “This is not an assessment tour, nor does it carry significant weight for future selections. However, many players have gone on to achieve Queensland and Australian representation after participating in previous tours. Our primary goal is player development—demonstrating coachability and the willingness to compete against tough opponents in challenging weather conditions.”
